“You look so worried, Clara! What’s going on?” Kristin asked—Kristin was the new girl on Clara’s soccer team.
“How exciting, Glugar! Grandpa and grandma invited me to go on vacation with them to an island in the Caribbean. We’re going on a plane! And we’re leaving in two days!” Clara was so happy. “Flying, the sun, the ocean, swimming…” Clara started to daydream.
“I’m telling you, Clara…you have to stop living like a bird in a cage,” Mr. Douglas told Clara while visiting her parents one day.
“I told you we should’ve had the support group meeting in a tree house instead of your living room!” Glugar protested.
“You’re insane Glugar!” Clara said, “You know I have never built a tree house before! Plus, who knows … maybe other kids don’t like to climb trees!”
“The cupcakes have disappeared from the table!” Rose yelled in a panic. “What are we going to do? The party hasn’t even begun! Oooh … this is a disaster!
Clara’s class was on a field trip to a plant nursery as part of a science assignment. Clara had finished her lunch before the other kids and decided to explore the gardens surrounding their lunch spot.
